Volunteer Opportunities

If you or your organization would like to volunteer, we have lots of great opportunities at Easterseals Wisconsin! Volunteer at camp, at an event, become a VIP Ambassador, work on special projects – there’s lots of options! Contact the Volunteer Coordinator, at 608.254.2502. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have and find the perfect fit for you.

Become a VIP (Very Important Partner), serving as an Ambassador for Easterseals Wisconsin. Being a part of the Easterseals Wisconsin Annual Campaign is simple and satisfying. It’s a great way to build contacts with other businesses and community leaders while enhancing your leadership and sales skills. Most importantly, you will be making a real and meaningful impact in the lives of children and adults with disabilities throughout Wisconsin. View this document for details or contact Rachel Reichhoff by email or phone at 608.237.1370 for more information!

Starry Night is the kickoff to the Easterseals Wisconsin annual campaign. Held each year in March, guests are invited to join us at Nakoma Golf Club in Madison where they will hear inspiring stories from our clients, enjoy hors d’oeuvres, and taste samples of fine wine and craft beer. Please contact Rachel Reichhoff by email or phone at 608.237.1370 for more information.

Volunteering at Easterseals Wisconsin Camps is a spectacular way to show you care about helping people with disabilities achieve success and have fun. Activities like riding bikes, taking nature walks, completing art projects, playing sports and games, dancing, sledding, swimming, camping under the stars, singing, or almost anything else you or your camper can imagine give the campers a real sense of accomplishment. While volunteering, you also get the opportunity to connect personally with the campers, learning everything from their interests and hobbies, to the best way to help them get into bed at night.

We are always looking for people to volunteer for our weekend programs at both Camp Wawbeek and Respite Camp in Wisconsin Dells. We provide on-site room and board, as well as a brief training period. Volunteers are needed by Friday at 3:00 pm for training; the camp session lasts until Sunday at 4:00 pm. We do ask that you complete an application and submit a reference form. After we receive these items, we will perform a background check and interview. You must be at least age 18 to provide direct camper care.  Please email our AmeriCorps Volunteer Coordinator or call 608-254-2502.

PLEASE REVIEW THE FOLLOWING VACCINATION NOTIFICATION

To Our Campers, Families, and Caregivers:

We are all looking forward to another great summer of laughs, songs, wagon rides, and swimming! As we are all preparing for the summer, we wanted to send you an overview to our updated COVID-19 control plan. Please keep in mind that we are continuously updating our procedures to evolve and align with campers needs, along with regulatory guidance.

**New this summer: All campers, staff, volunteers, and long-term visitors (someone who will be on camp longer than 2 hours) are required to be fully vaccinated as a term and condition of their participation and employment at our Camp programs. Acceptable proof of vaccination status is:

  1. The record of immunization from a healthcare provider or pharmacy.
  2. A copy of your COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card.
  3. A copy of medical records documenting the vaccination.
  4. A copy of immunization records from a public health, state, or tribal immunization information system; OR
  5. A copy of any other official documentation that contains the type or vaccine administered, date(s) of administration, and the name of the healthcare professional(s) or clinic site(s) administering the vaccine(s).

If you or your camper cannot receive the vaccination for medical or sincere religious reasons, you may contact Sarah Hubert, Director of Nursing, at shubert@eastersealswisconsin.com to request an exemption form. If you do not wish to comply with our vaccination policy, nor would like to request an exemption, you can email the camp office at eswcamps@eastersealswisconsin.com or call 608-254-2502 extension 191 to cancel your camp registration.

We will be continuing to require temperature and symptom monitoring for two weeks before attending camp, test all campers and staff/volunteers upon arrival at camp, as well as continue to wear masks at camp. Requiring vaccinations is the next step in being cautious and prudent in our goal of keeping everyone safe and healthy, and continuing to offer our programs to you as we would need to close camp if there was a positive test.

We appreciate your continued understanding and support as we navigate the best ways to keep everyone healthy so we can see you at camp for years to come!

Sincerely,

The Easterseals Wisconsin Camp Team
