Annual Report

Dear Friends,

It’s hard to believe this is my third Annual Report letter as Chair of the Board. Much has happened since my first letter in 2020, and through all the challenges created by the pandemic, I’d like to emphasize two things:

First, the board and staff have really struggled with not being able to provide more services throughout the pandemic. To be clear, the “struggle” was not with respect to whether the appropriate decisions were being made along the way; rather, the “struggle” simply related to having the passion and desire to help others when constraints were being imposed on the agency. This was especially true in our camp programs. But I could not be prouder of the agency in how it has navigated these challenges to optimize what was in its control. And I certainly look forward to brighter days ahead and more people in need being served.

Second, the agency remains in strong financial health. This point cannot be taken for granted, especially in light of unexpected lost camp revenue this summer due to COVID-19 related session cancellations. This strong financial condition is possible because of those who gave before us and your ongoing support.

The theme of this year’s report is “Shining a Light”. Easterseals Wisconsin is just that. It is a light to those with unique and challenging needs, and often their families. To make this personal, it’s a light to my son, Casey, and to my family. I simply cannot imagine Easterseals Wisconsin not being there as it has been for so many years. Think about how many individuals and families can say the same!

But it is there, and that is because of you. Without you, we simply cannot do what we do. Thank you for your support, and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead and the lives served as we move forward together!
