Wawbeek Wrap-Up

Wawbeek Wrap-Up
By Alex Peters, Director, Camp Wawbeek

Wow! Thank you to everyone who made summer 2019 one of the best ever! There were so many great things that happened and it’s all because of our awesome campers and talented, hardworking staff. We started off strong. The team that was built here during our week-long orientation took on the mission of camp and made it all possible! We are looking forward to another great calendar year of fun, adventures and friendship. We can’t believe that summer 2019 is over already, but we are looking forward to all that’s to come!

Throughout the summer, campers spent their time flying through the air on the new zip line, sleeping under the stars during campouts and cultivating friendships — as well as the super fun crafts, games, and talent shows. Campers and staff came from all over to connect and enjoy some time in the great outdoors and see long time friends. There were smiles all around.

We are also happy to share that Easter Seals Wisconsin Camps had another successful American Camp Association Accreditation visit. This has allowed us to showcase our special camps to other camp professionals and share all the things we are doing. The American Camp Association sets over 300 standards that camps must abide by. Standards include safety, emergency procedures and preparedness, meaningful program implementation, and general smooth operations. We are proud to show that we are putting in the extra work to ensure that everyone has a safe and successful experience at Easter Seals Wisconsin Camps.

The 2019-2020 online camper registration has opened. Weekend and summer sessions are available and we
are looking forward to having campers and staff back at camp! If you created an online account last year, the
process should be quite simple this year. Just log in to your account, update any information, and then select your sessions. Additionally, we do ask that campers’ medications be entered online as well, which we are happy to help with if needed.
