Build America’s Ability Experience is a Pi Kappa Phi philanthropy, made up of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity members from across the country. Each summer they spend six weeks traveling to different summer camps that focus on helping children with disabilities. At each of those camps, they take on a building project, creating something to benefit campers and staff. We were fortunate that, once again this year, Easter Seals Wisconsin camps was one of the camps chosen!
This year, Build America built a new play structure near the ropes course, giving campers a place to hang out while
they wait their turn on the high or low ropes courses or as an alternate activity if they choose to forego the ropes course altogether. There’s always firewood to split for campfires and fireplaces, so Build America helped us out with that too, chopping enough firewood to see us through most of the year! And to top off all this goodness, they awarded camp a $5,000 grant. We continue to be amazed by the generosity of so many people, groups, and organizations we’ve crossed paths with throughout the years.
