Camp Wawbeek Turns 80 & a Blast from the Past!

Camp Wawbeek Turns 80!
Camp Wawbeek has been operating since 1938 — can you believe it? It is the longest, continuously running Easter Seals camp in the nation. That’s something to be proud of you and you’ve been a part of that success! Here are some photos from our 80th celebration this summer at Camp Wawbeek. Over 60 volunteers joined us for a community build to construct an accessible playground.

Thank you to all Kiwanis, Key Clubs, and Circle K members who joined us that day. We even had help from some campers, too! For photos from the event visit our Facebook page.

Blast from the Past
The University of Wisconsin Nursing School will be sharing a presentation about Camp Wawbeek and how it has evolved over the years. We were asked to pull together some old photos and we found some gems when we dug through the archives! The oldest one dates back to circa 1940s and the newest is from 1998. Maybe you’ll recognize some familiar faces or maybe your family will! Let us know if you can name anyone — we’d love to hear from you. If you have old photos you’d like to contribute to the Easter Seals Wisconsin photo archives we’d be delighted to include them. Contact marketing@eastersealswisconsin.com
