Easter Seals Wisconsin holds various events throughout the year and we invite you to join us as a participant, a sponsor or a volunteer. Whether you enjoy golfing, dancing, bowling, walking or snowmobiling, there may be the perfect event for you.
Each year, on the first Saturday in February, the Dane County Council of Snowmobile Clubs (DCCSC) hosts Blizzard Blast, a fundraiser to benefit Easter Seals Wisconsin. This year, the DCCSC celebrated their 25th Annual event and 25 years of making a difference in the lives of children and adults with disabilities across Wisconsin.
“Strong partnerships make wonderful things happen,” says Kris Ackley, Director of Development for Easter Seals Wisconsin, “and this partnership has made a tremendous impact in the lives of people with disabilities in Wisconsin.”
The partnership between the DCCSC and Easter Seals Wisconsin began when the National Snowmobile Foundation became a corporate sponsor of the National Easter Seals Society (now Easter Seals, Inc.) and asked local clubs to find creative methods to support their area Easter Seals affiliates. In Dane County, the clubs chose to give that support through Blizzard Blast. Their outstanding contribution was recognized in 2007 when the DCCSC was named the Outstanding Fundraising Group for Easter Seals Wisconsin.
