Easter Seals Wisconsin operates two therapeutic recreation programs for children, youth and adults with physical, developmental and multiple disabilities. These programs allow program participants to engage in a full range of accessible activities in a safe and supportive environment.
AmeriCorps is a program of the federal government’s Corporation for National and Community Service that engages more than 75,000 Americans in community service each year to meet critical needs in education, healthcare, economics, environment and veterans assistance.
The Camp Outreach Liaison will assist in the promotion of new and existing camp programs. They will provide outreach to educational professionals, service providers, public and private organizations, and parents of individuals who would benefit from our camp programs. The member will work with marketing staff to develop promotional materials and establish relationships with statewide resources.
The Camp Outreach Liaison must complete at least 450hours of service between late September and mid-May (approximately 15 hours/week, M-F). The position is based out of the Easter Seals office in Madison. Additional events and two Saturday trainings are required. The member will receive a living allowance totaling $2,200 for the full term of service. Upon successful completion of the full term of service, the member is eligible for an education award totaling $1,415, which can be used to pay education costs or to repay qualified loans.
Applicants must have excellent organization and communication skills. He/she must be comfortable interacting with the public and have strong computer skills. This position is requires a high level of independence and eagerness to serve individuals with disabilities.
