1. JOB TITLE:  DIRECTOR, GRANTS MANAGEMENT
 

REPORTS TO:  President/CEO 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: 

Grow agency revenues through strategic and innovative federal, state, and private foundation grants that align with the mission and goals of the agency. Assist in the development and execution of a strategic plan for the agency’s development program. Write grant proposals, develop budgets, and manage grants to meet grant reporting requirements. Provide management support in the implementation of grant-funded programs and program components. 

DUTIES:

1. Develop and maintain a thorough and nuanced understanding of agency programs and capital initiatives towards the goal of identifying strategic and innovative approaches to securing government and major foundation grants to fund agency activities.

2. Develop highly effective communication and relationships with management staff to contribute to the achievement of department goals by identifying government and private/corporate foundation grants that advance their visions and objectives and optimize revenue and program growth.

3. Support staff in the implementation of high quality, efficient projects and program components that meet or exceed grant expectations. Work closely with managers to creatively develop programming that will expand or enhance current services funded or potentially funded by government and private grants.

4. Research and write grant proposals to state and federal agencies as well as private and corporate foundations including preparation of budgets, task timelines, work plans, literature review/research, performance measures, and evaluation plans, working closely with CEO, CFO, management staff and community partners. 

5. Track reporting requirements, gather performance data and submit reports to ensure fulfillment of grant terms and conditions. Maintain an updated calendar of private and government proposal and grant report due dates.

6. Conduct research and nurture relationships/alliances with current and prospective major partners statewide, particularly state and federal government officials, to identify and cultivate collaborative funding opportunities and develop partnerships for new initiatives.

7. Maintain database for tracking prospective, pending, active, and prior government and private/corporate foundation funding sources.

8. Closely monitor grant-funded outcomes; report on outcomes to donors, staff, and the Board of Directors.

9. Collect and submit annual Service Line Information (SLI) data to Easter Seals, Inc. 

10. AmeriCorps (AC) grant duties: overall AC program leadership in collaboration with management staff; supervise AC Coordinator; monitor performance measure outcomes; prepare budget and oversee grant billing with CFO and AC Coordinator; monitor and review income and expense reports, financial status, and end of year fiscal reports prepared by CFO; prepare Annual Performance Review information and provide oversight of quarterly and end of year reports; prepare new and renewal applications.

11. NIDRR-AATT, Lifespan Respite Care, and other government grant duties: work with staff to assure compliance with grant requirements, maintain relationships with key partners; complete all reports including annual financial and progress reports, complete annual partner activities and contracts; work with CFO to prepare/provide oversight of grant billing, financial monitoring, and budgeting; oversee ongoing website updates; prepare expansion, renewal, or new applications.

12. Private/corporate foundation duties: develop annual proposal, and financial and progress reports for FARM project and other potential projects funded by Otto Bremer Foundation. Prepare private and corporate foundation grant proposals according to program need and agency priority, as determined annually with CEO and management staff; prepare progress and final reports as needed for funded proposals; prepare press releases and arrange publicity, working with Marketing department, for funded proposals; manage efforts to steward major funders.

13. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:     

Experience in grant writing and fund development. Minimum three years experience in preparation of public and private grant proposals required, with proven track record of success. Expertise in identification of funding sources, grants research, developing collaborative partnerships, program and budget development, and preparation of complex written and electronic grant submissions. Demonstrated excellence in writing and editing. Highly organized and detail oriented. Ability to work as a member of a team and independently and effectively across departments, handling multiple projects, and under the pressure of deadlines for grant opportunities. Ability to work weekend and evening hours as needed. Proficiency with Word and Excel. Minimum of Bachelor's degree. Non-profit experience preferred.

2. Coordinator, AmeriCorps

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The AmeriCorps Coordinator is responsible for the administrative aspects of the Easter Seals Wisconsin AmeriCorps Partnership. Working with other project staff, the Coordinator is responsible for administrative duties including member recruitment and enrollment, member training and citizenship education, monitoring and evaluating program activities and member performance, required reporting, ensuring compliance with federal grant requirements and other duties related to the success of the program and members’ service.

DUTIES:

  1.  Coordinate the recruitment of AmeriCorps (AC) members to serve in Easter Seals Wisconsin (ESW) programs. 
  2. Coordinate, lead and/or assist AC member supervisors (ESW program staff) in the selection, enrollment, orientation, and training of AC members; take the lead on planning and providing member orientation and training, e.g. citizenship, professional development, and life training.
  3. Manage AC member files and ensure online databases (e.g. OnCorps, MyAmeriCorps, eGrants, etc.) that track AC member service are accurate and updated.
  4. Manage the collection of data and documentation to assure program implementation, including member performance and program outcomes, and member enrollment and exit in accordance with grant requirements.
  5. Prepare quarterly and year-end progress reports.
  6. Support AmeriCorps members in the logistics and procurement of equipment and supplies to implement AmeriCorps-initiated programming.
  7. Work to maximize members’ experience, facilitating communication, e.g. newsletter and weekly meetings, and training to meet members’ interests and needs, contributing to their growth and overall service experience with ESW programs.
  8. Assist the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the collection and reporting of financial data related to the AmeriCorps program.
  9. Assist the CFO and AC Program Director with monthly and year-end billing, as well as budget preparation.
  10. Assist the CFO in the collection and maintenance of personnel and payroll information for AC members.
  11. Assist the Director of Marketing in promotion of the ESW AmeriCorps Partnership to the media, public, and potential members.
  12. Participate as required in AmeriCorps meetings and events, including the annual national service conference.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by the AC Program Director.

 

WORK SITE AND SCHEDULE:

  1.  The position is based in the Madison office of Easter Seals Wisconsin.
  2. The AC Coordinator will be expected to travel to Easter Seals Camp Wawbeek and Respite Camp in Wisconsin Dells to meet with AmeriCorps members. From September through May, this will typically be one weekend day and one weekday each month. During the summer, this will typically be three days per week, Monday – Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Experience using MS Office, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  3. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  4. Very highly organized and extremely detail-oriented and meticulous, with the ability to work independently and to prioritize well.
  5. Possess a valid driving license and good driving record.
  6. Ability to work effectively with the public, AC members, and staff, as a member of a team; excellent interpersonal skills.
  7. Experience with federal or state-funded grant program desirable.
  8. Experience or familiarity with individuals with disabilities desirable.
  9. Familiarity with AmeriCorps desirable.
